Lead Artist Commissions & Consultancy

2011 – 2012 Lead Artist/ Consultant to West Sussex County Council new-build Special School (Willmott Dixon Group). Feature commissions anticipated 2012.
2010 – 2012 Artist Consultant with HoldenDell Projects to Willmott Dixon Group new-build Kettering Science Academy. Feature commissions complete 2012.
2009 – 2012 Lead Artist/Consultant to Skanska UK, part of Essex BSF Schools Programme. Ongoing. Two feature commissions complete 2011.
2009 Lead Artist to Bletchley Leisure Centre, new-build, Milton Keynes. Integrated commissions, community engagement programme & educational project with MK College.
2006 Lead Artist/Consultant to Desmond Anderson School, new-build, Crawley; commissioned & project managed gallery & display systems plus 2 integrated commissions (calligraphic text on wall & acrylic panels with pupils).
2005 Lead Artist to Paediatrics, University Hospital of North Staffordshire, PFI new-build; research, consultation, workshops, produced arts commissioning document. (Capital build subsequently dropped by review).
2005 – 2007 Lead Artist to Hadley Learning Community, £70m PFI new-build, Telford; overall artistic vision, development of commissions & community programme.
2002 – 2004 Lead Artist to Crawley Special Schools new-build; follow-on from design team residency, managing 5 artist’s commissions plus specialist contractors.

2011 Punched Steel Wall, Cornelius Vermuyden School, Essex
Graphic signage in 40metre punched steel external cladding for sports hall. Commissioned by Skanska UK
2009 River of Light, Bletchley leisure Centre, Milton Keynes
Fibre optic river in exterior floorscape, vinyl graphics on glazing, painted graphics on exterior wall. Commissioned by Milton Keynes Council
2009 Light Worlds, Oriel High School, West Sussex
Participatory collaborative project with students from feeder schools & yr 10 mentors; multi-sited vinyl graphic & text installation – corridor walls & glazing.
2007 ‘Possibilities’, Campbell Centre NHS Milton Keynes
Two-site commission for an acute mental health facility. Worked with staff & patients to design exercise space and courtyard garden with integrated artwork.
2007 Mosaic FriendshipBench, Holly Lodge Primary School, Surrey
Design & sub-contract of concrete bench. Mosaic workshops with pupils and parents.
2006 ‘Community Conversations’, Hadley Learning Community, Telford
Text-based commission collaborating with writer & the community.  Multi-media & multi-site internal & external interventions (incl. etched/painted pavers, vinyl film, laser-cut steel). Commissioned by Impact Art
2005 ‘Dumal’s Tree’, Pound Hill Infants School, West Sussex
Sculptural tree with integral seating for playground to commemorate death of pupil. Mosaic workshops to tree trunk with family, friends & staff.
2005 ‘Circle Wall, Hadley Learning Community, Telford
Precast concrete panels cast with multi-lingual text & copper letters across 20 metre external wall. Commissioned by Impact Art
2004 ‘Talking Glass’, Thomas Bennett Community College, West Sussex
Residency culminating in 9 windows of etched text & 4 lightboxes. 
2004 Etched & Sandblasted Glazing, Manor Green Special Schools, West Sussex
Workshops with pupils fed into the design of 2 sets of sandblasted entrance doors, plus internald etched screens. Commissioned by West Sussex County Council
Jun–Sept 2003 ‘Sanctuary Courtyards’, Fountain Way Hospital, Salisbury
New-build Acute Mental Health Unit. Workshops with staff & patients resulting in 10 windows of etched text & imagery for internal courtyards.  Commissioned by Impact Art
2001 Perspex Wall, Ipsley Middle School, Redditch, Worcestershire
Member of artist/architect team. Workshops to produce Perspex window installation, for new school extension. Commissioned by MADE West Midlands
2000 ‘Journeys’, Hunter & Partners architects, Chichester
Residency culminating in a permanent glass/light box commission for new-build Pound Hill School. Recipient of a Year of the Artist Award
1995 ‘Elements of Dialogue’, Thomas Bennett Community College, West Sussex
Residency working with 250 staff/pupils, live art & temporary installation in school gymnasium, creating a performance & interactive public space. Recipient of a South East Art Award
